I wonder if they will try to do that final day at Lincoln Financial Field.

Dang, Brooklyn would have been far easier to organize protests for.

Glad they decided, at last! Very Rarely You See Conventions being held in cities in such close proximity to each other, 2004 (N.Y. & Boston), 1936 (Cleveland & Philadelphia), 1888, 1896, 1904 and 1916 (Chicago & St. Louis). Last non - incumbents to be nominated in Philly was Bush in 2000 (won) & Dewey in 1948 (lost). Thought I'd indulge myself a little old history lesson and share.

Interesting. Republicans will have a hard time winning Pennsylvania in 2016, although in 2012 the Dems lost NC and the Reps lost FL (both of which were their "convention states").

I really don't think that snarling up traffic for a few days and attracting the crazies from out of state who inevitably show up to protest actually helps.

Columbus definitely put a lot of work and effort into this, and throughout the #BringIt campaign they did air some very cool social media friendly videos advertising what Columbus had to offer, and the state party chair among others voiced their support.

It does suck that Ohio won't be the state, though Philly sounds like a good place to have it to be honest (just as long as it wasn't NYC).

Plus soon-to-be Columbus Mayor Andy Ginther already has his eyes on getting 2020 (when Hillary will presumably be running basically unopposed for renomination). So there are some upsides.

Great choice for the Democrats.

To the poster who said that the Republicans would have a hard time winning Pennsylvania because of the DNC, I would say they would have had a hard time regardless of the location of the DNC.  Pennsylvania seems to be one of those states that is so close, yet so far for the Republicans every cycle.  The bottle-neck traffic that is coming to Philly won't change that one way or the other in all honesty.
