We're visiting my parents in Florida. My folks got the wife and I tickets to the local minor leagur hockey team.

My wife's gift? She readily agreed to go.

All assuming I can get over this damn stomach flu I came down with yesterday.

I'm gonna try and hang out with this girl I've been texting, or if that falls through, with my best friend. Either way, I refuse to be alone this year.

Well, that's one way to bring your and your best friend's relationship to "the next level".

I'm 19 actually, and frankly uninterested in a relationship at this point. Even if I were, I dislike the idea of setting one arbitrary date to be romantic.

That first sentence makes things no less sad.

Have to somewhat agree with you on your second line. Whomever decided to place a holiday celebrating romance in the most un-romantic month of the year needs horsewhipped.
