OK my point was simply that there was no hypocrisy in attacking Juggalos from my subculture, it's quite common. Plus consistent. Can you seriously imagine someone who is a fan of this type of band being an ICP fan? I mean even if they liked any hip hop music AT ALL...

Furthermore it's well known that ICP's music is full of misogyny, homophobia and glorifies violence and is extremely un-PC. Is it any surprise it'd be hated by some of the most politically correct out there? I mean, consider that even Dude Fest has come under controversy before due to the name, with some people in some zines finding it sexist. In 2007 there was even "A Different Kind of Dude Fest", a more political and SJW-oriented musical fest of the same type in Baltimore and the name primarily protesting that even if the "Dude Fest" name was a joke it had undertones of the institutionalized sexism of mainstream culture in it. Even some bands that played at the normal Dude Fest played at that. It's no coincidence these Juggalo gangs also popped up. Can you imagine gangs of SJW hardcore fans? Of course not because that'd be completely antithetical to all their values.

Look, the ICP makes objectively terrible music, I find their mannerisms and rituals bizarre myself, and "Miracles" in particular is one of the most aggressively stupid, anti-facts, anti-thought songs ever recorded.

But I'm glad for these folks that they've found a community where they feel like they belong, and Nix and TNF are absolutely right to decry the sneering classism in this thread.  FF in protest.

So then what's your thoughts on the whole DIY post-hardcore/real emo scene? Because you haven't expressed a particularly positive opinion of that in the past.

News at 11: music reflects the society it develops in

But really, you complain about the 'misogyny, homophobia' etc. here and claim that it's no surprise that 'SJW types' wouldn't like it, but I don't know if that's necessarily true. A lot of people like music that they don't necessarily agree with. I like a lot of older hip-hop, which is often misogynistic and/or homophobic, but I don't automatically agree with what's being asserted by the singer in question. Likewise, I don't care for the politics of  lot of musicians that I like (since I do like a good bit of country, for instance), but I don't have to agree with someone's politics to enjoy their work. Unlike you, I don't judge cultural production on the basis of whether or not it agrees with my specific ideological framework, because if I did, I wouldn't be able to engage with any (or just a very small bit of cultural production), because my views are very much out of the mainstream.

You need to learn how not to make every single act you engage in something that reinforces the things you already hold to be true. Otherwise, you're going to continue to go through life as a stunted, dogmatic imbecile.

It's going to help Republicans win down-ballot elections for offices that nobody cares about. Many people would just check the straight-ticket box and be done with it, where if they remove straight-ticket, those straight-ticket Democratic voters more than likely won't take the time to vote down-ballot, and we all know who wins elections that nobody turns out for.

Election laws should not be written around the particular GOTV struggles of one party. That the Democrats can't convince their supporters to fill out an entire ballot says nothing about the about the alleged merits of straight ticket voting.

This post so many times over.

DOMA was an evil bill & Clinton should not have signed it - It set gay rights for a generation.

And the problem is not just 1996 but in 2007 she said the same when Obama openly said he supported Gay Marriage she said in a very brutal way "Marriage is between a man & a woman". It was much worse than Mitt Romney coming when it is coming from a so-called "Progressive" " No Champion of Gay Rights" Democrat candidate in 2007 when the other guy has supported it.

This was 2007, not 1996. She only turned in 2013 - when the whole country changed.

Does she deserve the gay vote over a candidate who was talking on GOP in 1995 for anti-gay speeches or voting against DOMA.

Are you completely illiterate? Read my post again.

I read that dumb post of yours & it was a pile of BS

Alright, so I get that you don't understand anything as evidenced by your being a libertarian now supporting a socialist, so as a gay I will take the time to educate you and your friend the Clueless Canuck on something.

The policy of the armed forces before DADT was to actively try to find gays in the ranks. They would ask questions and give tests, and if you failed them you could be dishonorably discharged. The military outright banned gays from serving in 1982 as policy, but there was no actual law regulating this. In 1992 and 1993 Bill Clinton said he wanted the military to change this policy and allow LGBT people to openly serve in the armed forces, but in the ensuing uproar Congress looked set to ram through a legal ban on LGBT people serving in the armed forces with a veto-proof majority.

DADT was put together as a last-minute compromise to stop Congress from ramming a wholesale ban through over Clinton's veto. DADT prohibited the armed forces from launching investigations to try to weed out gays serving in the military and also introduced anti-harrassment and anti-discrimination rules.

DADT didn't set back gay rights by a generation; it was an unpleasant but necessary compromise to stop a law that would actually ban gays outright. If that law had passed, that would have been far worse than DADT.

These are facts. I know, life is hard when you can't re-write history.

Honestly, still a "dying majority party" resistant to the new demographic and economic realities, and stubbornly clinging to the old ways. That's evidenced by a 2.1% popular vote loss and massive deficits in the big urban blue states. Old white people are certainly dying and that's one reason the popular vote went to the Democrats. They are also a regional party (South, Midwest) which is why they're having popular vote and mandate problems.

I think the obstruction of Obama was a serious error that led to increased polarization - a kind of polarization that will rebound to the Democratic Party's benefits, when the dam bursts.
You're being intellectually dishonest here. You make no note of how Trump of all people over performed Romney with Hispanic and Black voters by 2% and 3% respectively. Imagine what a non-asshole Trumpist will be able to do.

That would never happen, since Trump's entire appeal is being an asshole.

this so much. This is why I just boil over whenever I read posts that are like "WHAT IF TRUMP NEVER MADE ANY GAFFES I WASN'T PAYING ATTENTION ALL CAMPAIGN"
