This is a rather interesting match-up between the stubborn segregationist governor who also called for withdrawal from Vietnam and the air-force general who helped desegregate the military while calling for North Vietnam to be bombed back to the Stone Age. Assume both are their 1968 versions.

Both terrible, but I'll take Lemay over Wallace.

Wallace, I would never vote for him, but he did apologize for his actions eventually.

Wallace is pragmatic enough to see the tide turn and would be forced to recant anyway on segregation. And any economic programs he hands out can easily by the other states be used towards integration.

LeMay being a desegregation advocate is his only asset. Him ruining Vietnam at the detriment of everything else domestic.

I'd rather cancer under these premises, but I'm forced to go with Wallace if left with two sides.

I mean obviously I'd sooner castrate myself with rusty pliers than have these nuts with any power, but I'm not a huge fan of WWIII and the nuclear anihalation of civilians so Wallace.

IIRC, wasn't Wallace only for withdrawal from Vietnam if it couldn't be won after a 90-day intensive bombing campaign?  It's not like he would have chosen LeMay as a running mate if he was all that dovish.

LeMay with his finger on the nuclear button?

Are you f**king kidding me. In such case, I'd vote for Wallace ten times.

Awful, just awful. But Wallace, because I am not a fan of nuclear holocaust.
