Over 60,000 posts this month so far.  And over 3000 new topics.  Both are records.

This despite the forum design looking like something from the previous century (perhaps because it almost literally is) and despite the fact that the entire concept of online discussion boards peaked around 2005.

What can I say?  Trump is good for ratings.

That's because this place is like a community now.  It's very unique on the internet.  Not many places like it.

Atlas is interesting in the sense that it attracts a steady stream of new users without becoming huge and unwieldy, but also enough not to become stagnant or die off. It's like the Goldilocks of internet communities.

Yesterday was the most active day since July 25th, almost surpassing July 19th to be the second most active day since the end of the primary season.

Posts update (because why not):

1) BRTD 77,976  (+163)
2) Al 60,606 (+50)
3) Lewis 58,620 (0)
4) Phil 52,849 (-2)
5) opebo 47,130 (0)
6) Kal 44,072 (+317)
7) Eraserhead 41,957 (+62)
8 ) Antonio 41,230 (+660)
9) Tender 40,512 (+125)
10) Lief 40,144 (+143)

Antonio has made 660 posts in 18 days, a rate of almost 37 a day. He should pass Eraserhead by November 1st, and will pass Kal (!) in 5 months, by which point he'd be 2 days away from passing opebo.

Lief should pass Tender in exactly 1 year.

How the frick did Phil lose 2 posts? Huh

We can thank Dave Leip's incredible dedication to collecting and warehousing all this election data for that.

Given how busy it's been today, we stand a very good chance of reaching 3000 posts today, which again would be the highest it's been since primary season.  Anyone want to predict how many posts we'll get on election day if the server doesn't crash?

We've now had 3000+ posts for three days in a row.  This is much higher traffic than the forum had in the run up to election day 2008 or 2012.  Again, it looks like Trump is good for ratings.

So the outhouse that is the 2016 board smells even more ripe than usual?  Ugh.  Sad

While looking at the members list I noticed Gporter has just 303 posts, with no posts at all between  and 2008 and 2015.

How come it all dissapeared?

I'm #152. In the 121-150 range are Duke, PBrunsel, Holmes, DC Al Fine, Gass, TDAS, Averroes, Flo, Vosem, Likely Voter, and darthebearnc. Lots of big names I have to pass there.

Only 115 posters are above 10,000 posts. TNVolunteer, realisticidealist, and ClintonianCake are probably all about to pass that.

Now I'm #140. No one who registered after me is ahead of me in post count. Only one, TNVolunteer, even registered the same year as me.

I thought maybe activity would drop a little on Friday, but no, Friday was actually the busiest day here this week.  All five weekdays this week have had over 3000 posts.  Will it continue through the weekend?

Also, no, we didn't have over 3000 posts again on Saturday.  It was only 2743.

I figured jumping back in the for election would get me moving in the right (wrong?) direction again. Back in top 75 for the time being, until I disappear for 4 years again. Tongue

The FBI news (and the usual variety of threads that spawn from it) might help to put us over 3000 again today. Need a bit over a 1000 to reach that number with more than seven hours (many of which are peak hours) to go.

3456 posts on Sunday, which may be an all time record.  Imagine how big Monday and Tuesday will be if there's no crash.

Looks like Antonio hasn't posted since election day?  If he doesn't come back within the next month or so, then Eraserhead could retake the #7 spot from him.  Eraserhead isn't posting at a terribly high rate either, but it's only a 48 post deficit at the moment.
