I will be tabling this, since as I pointed out, this was more of a debate catalyst than something I would actually want to see enacted.

Several concerns with this bill-I don't think that minimum wages should be set on the business-they should be centered on the employee because it's a right of every work. That's why I'm against the idea that if you have less than 20 employees you should have a lower minimum wage. It sends out the wrong idea about the minimum wage. I question the legal standing behind such law as well, as it's unconstitutional

I also feel the system would be abused by employers. Surely they could put staff on 'temporary contracts' or sister companies to claim that they employ less than 20 people.

I'd much rather see tax credits, investment schemes etc as a methods of helping small businesses-not denying workers the right to a fair wage
