Your comment would seem to imply that either the Poles could not put up a significant fight, or that the security guarantees of the United States towards Poland and the Baltic Countries are non-credible. 

I have a very hard time believing that any Russian incursion past 'facts on the ground' in Narva is going to result in less than a War

I do not believe Putin has delusions of ruling all of Western Europe.  you know full well how Russia's "buffer" against the West -- which invaded Russia twice (three if you include Western support for the Whites) in modern history, both times with beyond catostrophic consequences -- has been whittled down to zero.
