I like how have the blue avatars don't get why it's funny, when they would almost certainly react with amusement if a Republican state senator did the same in a Dem-dominated state.

and the risk of spoiling the joke, maybe you could explain it?

Guy goes to work. Ends up being only person at work. Guy cheekily does everything he's wanted to do for a example, while knowing full well it doesn't matter, because he's the only one to show up.
