Obviously, this is an editorial decision, but I'm urging media outlets to not make proclamations (however obvious the results might be) about who has won or is going to while there's still almost a day's worth of voting to go.

It's generally not a good idea. I wish Nix would make one of those by-the-hour vote total graphs for the Feb-March 2014 Special Election.

With the polls set to close in a few hours, here is the status of the presidential race as of the most recent vote:

Maxwell (DR): 34 (28.3%)
JCL (Fed): 14 (11.7%)
Others: 5 (4.2%)
Turnout: 69%

The Mideast Record-Courier has projected that Senator Bore will emerge victorious in this race tonight.

In the Midwest Senate race, one of two races left to be called tonight, Senator TNF has lengthened his lead over Federalist challenger Dereich:

Other: 1 (4.8%)
Turnout: 66%

Meanwhile, to the South, Senator North Carolina Yankee continues to trail independent challenger Hagrid by a single vote:

Turnout: 72%

Both of these races, at this time, remain too close to call.
