The Democrats only chance of winning if Hillary declines is : George Clooney. I'm serious here. Good looks, high name ID, fundraising, could be competitive in the GE.
Are you a real person?
Yes. Clooney is known in the country.  Period.

You know who else would be known in this country? Whoever the Democrats decide to nominate when they get media coverage for winning the nomination.

Sadness, because our chances of winning in 2016 would take a huge hit.

Anger, not because I like her all that much, but because she is the best shot we have at keeping the Presidency, and that is really important with this destructive Congress.

The 2016 presidential race would go from toss-up/tilt D to safe R, so pretty depressed.

That shows the state of the political landscape. One person carrying the entire party. Tsk tsk.

I don't actually think the Republicans would have an advantage in a Clinton-less field, as I don't think she's the reason why the Dems are slightly favored.  I think the Dems are slightly favored simply because the GOP brand is in more trouble than the Dem. brand right now.  And that would still be true if the Dem. nominee was Gillibrand or Klobuchar or Patrick or O'Malley or whoever.  I don't think Clinton running or not has much impact on the relative odds of each party winning.

Of course, the polls wouldn't reflect that right away, but general election polls taken this early have almost no predictive power.

I'm skeptical that Patrick or O'Malley would have a decent shot, much less start out slightly favored, against any competent Republican.

In a way I would be happy. This could pave the way for Brian Schweitzer, who could run on an economically populist "everyman" platform while appealing to much of middle America. In my opinion he would be a much stronger, more electable candidate.

A tad bit surprised, but otherwise indifferent.

Mostly pleased. I'd be even happier if Joe Biden jumped in.

Acceptance, but Dems have O'Malley, Biden and Webb who will have a fighting chance and beat back the nepotism charge that will then fall on Jeb.

I'd be surprised.  Would make the 2016 race pretty interesting, though.
