Every few weeks or so, I will find myself writing like two pages of a completely random story that tries to convey a certain "universal truth" or theme. I am an avid reader, and my heroes are men like Faulkner and Cormac McCarthy as their writings touch the sublime. I have always wanted to be a writer, but I lack direction. I have stacks and stacks of like two page short stories/short scenarios that allow me to practice descriptive, emotional prose and convey truths about human nature, but I just can't imagine having the fortitude or energy to write an entire novel or even novella.

I like to come up with premises and plots for stories, and I think some of the things I've imagined have the potential to spawn good novels. However, I just lack the talent to write them myself, and I'm too lazy and busy to ever try hard enough.

Yes (English major)

While short stories are my specialty, I do have an unfinished novella and  I'm currently working a screenplay
