Do non-Anglophone countries have their own version of "white trash" culture?

Britain has chavs. Do places like Germany, France or Scandinavia have their own version of a white underclass characterized by low educational attainment, propensity for criminal activity and socially harmful behavior (young, unwed parenthood; excessive drug and alcohol use), often broadcasted by visual signaling in the form of a characteristic manner of dress or preferred food and drink, types of cars driven, etc?

I would imagine they are more urban in Europe than in America where we associate "white trash" with rural areas... but honestly, **** if I know.

You're right about that, at least in Germany/Austria
"They" live in some lesser-off urban/suburban areas, rarely in rural areas.

And yes, they are portraied just like white trash is in America. There is a tv channel (RTL), which program is mainly depicting the life of such "Assis", as "they" are called (Assis is a short form for "asocials")...

In Italy the south is probably seen this way by those living north of Rome.

I watched Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis in French class which seemed to indicate a similar reputation for northern France around Lille.

It's a majority Anglo country, but Canadians look down on "Bluenecks", which are usually separatist leaning, blue collar, white. fiercely proud Quebecers.

Bavarians and especially BWers (Baden-Württembergers) and Swabians are the exact opposite: They are seen as hardworking people who turn around every cent twice because they are so thriftly and housewifely.

Well, Bavarians might be seen as culturally backward, but that's not what "white trash" is about.

Nowadays the stereotype that comes closest to "white trash" in Germany is that of a long-time unemployed inhabitant of the central or northern Ruhr area (kind of Germany's rust belt), who is a fervent supporter of the soccer club Schalke 04 (alternatively Borussia Dortmund). The older ones still have 80s hairstyles. They are not thought of as particularly criminal, except for soccer-related violence. Their language is depicted as degenerate slang. And they give their children certain names like Kevin (the one from Alone at home) and Chantal. Recently also Justin, Jeremy, Jason, Jayden etc., creative spellings like Shakline and hyphenated exotics like Destiny-Zoe.

As said before: In Austria and Germany, "white trash" lives in the Ruhr area, in East Berlin, or in East German cities.
Their kids are named Kevin, Dennis, Mandy or Chantal, they have a fake Turkish accent and are always saying "alda", "digga", "ey" and "üschwöa", they attended the Hauptschule or even the Sonderschule, they are unable to pronounce the "ch" sound, they live in plattenbauten, they spend their welfare on cigarettes and beer, and they all wear sweatpants.
