My social position was in a general upward trend throughout high school, so, like any normal human being, it goes Senior>Junior>Sophomore>Freshman. Nevertheless, college has been a vast improvement over that, and I have little contact with my high school classmates these days.

Senior: A- (since I was a part-time TA and therefore had fewer hours of class to attend. Easiest academic year I've had since 6th grade. Almost failed Pre-Cal though.)

Freshman: B (because High School was actually a fun experience then, sans Geometry and Spanish, first girlfriend as well.)

Junior: C- (Too many tests this year to take, almost failed Spanish. Uninteresting otherwise)

Sophomore: F (Only one elective, almost failed Spanish, lost the relationship from freshman year, and until last year I had never met a more incompetent teacher than the Environmental Science teacher)

Senior (2011–12), Freshman (2008–09), Junior (2010–11), Sophomore (2009–10)

I wouldn't go back, but high school was a lot of fun.

I'd say Sophomore, followed by Freshman.

Senior of course. I remember being a Freshman and thinking  "those Seniors are so big" then when I was a Senior I thought "those Freshman are so small". Funny.

Can we all agree that Junior Year is the hardest?

Freshman and Sophomore year, working on the campaign.

Can we all agree that Junior Year is the hardest?
I have found Senior Year to actually be worse, but I feel I'm the exception and not the rule.

My senior was tougher as well, but that was because I was taking all dual enrollment and honors classes.

Using the Australian high school system (each "year" is basically the equivalent American grade):

Year 12
Year 11
Year 10
Year 9
Year 8

Basically, each year was better than the last.

Probably sophomore year since I'd become acclimated to high school without worrying about college apps too much. Then again junior year was pretty good and senior year gets weighed pretty favourably in my book due to my new French teacher.

The 2nd and 3rd of the 4 years.

The first was about getting to know all the new people in my class and the parallel classes.

The next 2 were great.

The last one was stressful because of all the exams and final graduation tests.

Sophomore Year (2006-07)
Junior Year (2007-08)
Senior Year (2008-09)
Freshman Year (2005-06)

All of my friends were a year younger than me so Sophomore Year wins by default because that's when I started to hang out with them.

Is there anyone who voted for the year based on some reason other than sexual activity?  Just curious.

For sure.  My senior year was great because I finally finished, and because I was an adult (heh, physically anyway).  Sex gets way better after High School.

Currently in Junior year. It's been super chill, even with IB, forensics, and tennis starting soon.

First year after graduation. Not a cop out; it's just every year of life post high school is SOOOOOOO much better than high school itself.

Sure... while yes, that was THE year, the two were not connected. It's was more the relationships got stronger and the clique-y nature actually kind of calmed down by then.

Senior year, obviously. We had the Senior Lounge, plenty of classes that I enjoyed, more free time on our hands, several senior-only game tournaments, all of the pranks we pulled on the freshmen (and the school administration on the last day of classes), plenty of political arguments and bullcrap (including a school-wide mock election), senior-only retreats, the senior section at sports games and graduation/grad parties. A lot of great memories. Eagles for Life!

We were also inducted into the school's Alumni Association and as it stands, I have two friends who went there that still are around (while a lot of our senior class moved off to places as far as CA and FL for college and as close by as Kent, Athens and Columbus).

Senior year was absolutely the best in every single way possible. After that, it'd be junior year, when I really felt like my life was on track and going in the right direction. With the last two, I would definitely say that freshman year edges out sophomore year quite easily. There was very little to like during sophomore year. (I was on Student Council during my freshman year, but it was quite obviously very pointless early on (and I never ran again)). So, my order is this:

Senior Year (2004-2005)
Junior Year (2003-2004)
Freshman Year (2001-2002)
Sophomore Year (2002-2003)
