Which state (or which two states) had the most surprising and unanticipated election results in the Presidential elections starting in 1960?
My guesses:
1960 - Hawaii and Alaska
1964 - Georgia
1968 - Texas
1972 - Minnesota
1976 - California and Oklahoma
1980 - Massachusetts and Arkansas
1984 - Minnesota and Maryland
1988 - Maryland and Washington
1992 - Montana and New Hampshire
1996 - Colorado and Georgia
2000 - Oh, there were many. Would choose Florida and Pennsylvania though.
2004 - Ohio and Iowa
2008 - Missouri and Indiana
2012 - Florida and North Carolina
