I find Canadian Criminal Justice/Military/Police favourable, not so much their American equivalent.

In theory, I don't have a problem with any of these things. The way they're being handled right now, I approve of the presidency, TV news, newspapers, organized labor, the Supreme Court (though that might change depending on the Obamacare ruling), and small business.

Organized labour(yes I spell that with a "u") and public education.

And yet you spell organised with a 'z'. Your Anglophillia is lacking.

Anyway, some of these institutions are run merely OK and the rest are dreadful. The worst public institutions (in the UK at least) are the newspapers, the civil service, the intelligence services, business of all sizes and the public schools.

Organised labour, newspapers (most are pretty good still in America, only WSJ and USA Today have ever bugged me), public education, religion [on the whole], and small businesses.

"Public schools" in the UK sense or in the US sense?

Meanwhile, you fail to punctuate and capitalize your entire comment.
