The executions of Nicholas and Alexandra were lean FEs (I mean, not really, since they're still executions, but within that context); the executions of their children and several of their servants--somehow that part gets left out of most of the more tendentious narratives surrounding the event, of all ideological stripes--were massive HEs. The idea that children deserve to be killed because of who their parents are, and servants because of who their employers are, comes from a profoundly, terribly atavistic thought process, even if one does try to rationalize it on leftist grounds.

It's worth noting that even the people who actually killed the Romanovs weren't as uncritically thrilled about it as TNF and, apparently, oakvale seem to be...
