There are people who aren't millionaires and yet vote Republican. Nothing can baffle me anymore.

Glenn Beck literally used this metaphor to describe how the Internet works earlier this week. Except instead of tubes, they were sewer pipes. Clogged sewer pipes! Imagine having your computer spewing feces all over your home cause of OBAMA's NET NEUTRALITY SWINDLE that will lead to CONSERVATIVE BLOGGERS being led away in CHAINS to a SECRET FCC GULAG.

The responses to the FCC were over 99% in favor of net neutrality, so I imagine even among non-politician Republicans, it had to be completely overwhelming support.

Yeah, this is a pretty undeniable example of 'opposing it just because Obama's for it' from the Republican political classes.

It's a credit to their foresight then, since they had the same position a decade ago.

Again, this is not merely an anti-Obama position.

It's a matter of lobbying power.  Silicon valley mostly gives money to Democrats.  Big telecomms are more up for grabs and Republicans benefit by doing their bidding.
