Humans are animals and I do not believe in the sanctity of animal life, therefore no.

No. There is nothing inherently valuable about life. It can be a fantastic thing as much as it can be a horrible thing.

However, I believe that every human being has an absolute and universal right over their life (or death). They are the only judges of whether or not their life is worth living.

Where does that right come from? I think you've said before you don't believe in natural rights.

First of all, I've never really concerned myself with the question of where rights "come from". To me, rights are simply the reflection of the common agreement that should be established between individuals. They are what I believe humanity would agree to if it were able to deliberate under Rawls' "veil of ignorance". But of course, I am nothing but an individual myself, with my own prejudices and preconceptions, so I am certainly wrong in some respects.

Now, to be honest, I guess I value the individual's right over his/her own life more than any other right I believe into, and I don't necessarily have a philosophical reasoning to justify this superiority. I guess that, in this case, I'll have to resort to the excuse of "I just deeply feel it". I know that doesn't make for an argument, but that's all I got.

in a sense.  the absence of human suffering is sacred, the only intrinsic good that we can all agree upon.

so while abortion and even infanticide are anathema to most "life is sacred" folks, if you ask me, the child is being done the greatest favor: being killed before learning to fear death, before Falling into sin.

not in the unconditional sense a lot of christians and liberal humanists (redundant) use. this really comes down to several points in my head:

1. quality of life matters. back when the 1906 earthquake happened in san francisco, a number of people euthanized those trapped underneath that couldn't be freed. they weren't charged with murder for a reason. same thing with pows that couldn't be fed or treated in battle zones.

2. quality of human being matters too. someone that lights an old lady on fire or rapes their baby doesn't deserve to live just because they're human. there is nothing wrong with executing them.

on the other hand rampant abortion on demand decimating your race isn't a good thing and if you can't see why that's not 'hypocritical' or incompatible with the above sentiments i don't know what to tell you. #blacklivesmatter

It's important to protect life and not allow it to be wasted needlessly. That includes non-human life.

Sacred of course is a silly buzzword, with spiritual connotations. I would discard it immediately.

It's sacred in that causing an unwanted death is generally the worst harm possible, yes. Gun nuts that are like "he was gonna steal my wallet so I shot him! yeearrgghh justice!" my reaction is no... still a tragedy.
