I'd say a little.  Grade 6 was lousy, 7 and 8 were generally decent.

A little. Maybe more meh than a little. I didn't pay attention to Middle School as a chapter in my life. I just somehow went along for the ride.

I hated it. A horrible culture shock.

it was ok because there was a big jump in freedom from grade 6.  my person didn't need to be accounted for at every moment.

Option 1. I was a cool kid in middle school. There was no studying that I had to do. Spent everyday at a friend's house.

10/10 would go back in time for.

6th grade was horrible, 7th grade was one of the best years of my life so far, and 8th grade was okay.

I didn't have a "middle school".  I suppose my rough equivalent would be what we call "junior high school", grades 7-9.

It was great, mostly because of how easy it was. I would just goof off all day in class and play sports or just hang out with my friends all day after school. I'd almost never turn in homework and still get low 90's and high 80's in most classes. High school had more memorable and enjoyable experiences but the stressless existence I had during middle school is something I'll never get back.

Am I the only one here that went to a junior high school, and not a middle school?

I suppose I did, as far as one can compare American/Austrian system... You can either go to some "middle school"-like completely independent school, or a "junior high"-like school, that's actually the same school as a high school, just goes for eight years and starts at age 10...

It was okay. There were a lot of fun things like the 8th grade end of the year trip to DC, talent shows, spelling bee competitions, basketball games, and "field day" which was a sports/game-based event for the whole school in late Spring.

P.E. class was the best, and English and Social Studies were made fun by the teachers for those. The principal started a new class called Etiquette in 8th grade which was a requirement for graduation, and that was by far the worst class I ever took.

Overall, I didn't make the kind of friends there that I did in high school, but middle school had it's advantages.

The equivalent years in secondary school for me were hellish because I became a snobbish, inane twerp and my closest friend was a vile specimen (the sort of person who told Jewish kids that their grandparents should have died in the Holocaust) so everyone thought I was as terrible as that idiot.

I went to a Catholic school during that point.

Probably the worst time for me K-12, so last option. I liked high school a lot, though, especially 10, 11, 12. It was just a different atmosphere, people had matured, I sort of found my niche, etc.
