I'm quite strongly opposed on principle, but I cannot deny there are instances where I think certain individuals should be strangled with bare hands. (To be perfectly honest, if someone I knew were murdered, I would have no hesitation taking it into my own hands. I would truly not hesitate to use my own hands.)

It has no place in the judicial system of a civilized nation. Certain extremely rare circumstances like Nürnberg are a rightful exception, but it has nothing to do with this general issue.

No in practice, I would not kill a million guilty people if it meant killing one innocent person. Even with perfect knowledge of guilt and innocence, the only situation I could see myself supporting it is if you have someone like the Joker who is able to keep escaping prison and kill more people (which probably wouldn't happen).

I support capital punishment in theory but would prefer it to be temporarily abolished in the US until we get the system under control.

I vote yes.  I'm almost a bit conservative socially speaking.

No. It costs the state more and is proven not to lower crime.

In theory, yes. The way it is practiced today, no. As Kalwejt said, there are some obvious scenarios where capital punishment is appropriate, but until we can be 100% sure that everyone being sentenced to death is guilty, I will be very, very hesitant to support it.
