The king is dead, long live the kings.  I think that unlike some here, he sincerely wanted to help you change your bad habits, and unlike most here, he sincerely believed you could be helped via the forum.  I think that's why he posted so much in the Update.  It was a case of each of you reinforcing the self-delusions of the other.
