I like the proposal of President Lumine about by-laws of the party. Smiley
About the name: I like both Civic Renewal and Reform Party and I think the better idea is waiting at least 1/2 days for possible new entries in the party.

Hey guys. I'm quite interested. If we could change the name, that'd be awesome, but none the less, I'm in. Smiley

(Also, could we get a convention location vote going up sometime today?)

Welcome, Jack!

I do think having the by-laws and the leadership is the priority for now rather than a convention, but if there's interest in holding one (especially to deal with the platform and the message), then that won't be a problem. The name can be changed, yes, but I would like to hear justification for the new names proposed.

I don't know why you Americans have a distaste for everything that gets Civic in name. By the way, Reform Party doesn't sound like a center-right party like the Civic Renewal or the Civic Union does...

It's not the Civic aspect that sounds strange. It's the Renewal.

What would you say to Civic Conservative Party?

This is obviously not my party, but might I add that Civic Renewal is quite a nice name and rather different from what we usually get around here. From an outsider's perspective, I would suggest keeping it. Smiley

Thanks for the suggestions.
Personally, I don't like Civic Conservative Party so much. I think that Civic Renewal is better.

Thanks, Barnes, I choose it in part because it's different (and Civic has only been used in the Civic Union and the Civic Alliance Party, I believe), I didn't want a dull name, xD

Considering Cris is Italian, why not "The New Center right"?

Also speaking as an outsider, I think Civic Renewal is a nice name for the party. I think it's cool to have at least one party without "party" in its name.

Since I had deep discussions with Lumine about this party's name. I call for it to remain as it is... Viva la Renovación Cívica! Viva a Renovação Cívica! Vive le Civic Renouvellement! Long live the Civic Renewal!

I would like to suggest 'Potato Renewal' as the name of this stillborn attempt at reviving the moribund fortunes of the extreme right.

These folks are not the radical right. You TNF are the radical left.

We both know you can do better than that, Senator, why so suddenly respectful?

I had the feeling that the name sounds quite Latin American Wink

Cris noted that a precise system is needed for convention localtion votes, so I was considering adding STV as an option. Other than that, I'd like to start a vote on the by-laws tomorrow, so I'll wait until then in case there are any suggestions or proposals.

The party name sounds like something you would find in a Canadian municipal election.

Must not have had enough caffeine when I wrote that. Rest assured, Mr. President, that I will come up with plenty of insults to go along with your new party in the coming days and weeks.
