What would South Carolina governor Nikki Haley bring to the ticket as a vice presidential running mate other than potential female support and a more conservative record as governor?

As a reelected Governor, she's suitably qualified.

Conservatives are happy with her record. She doesn't have much ideological baggage, so she could be a plausible running mate for Chris Christie, Rand Paul, etc.

A relatively young brown woman adds diversity to the ticket. She also has a record in small business that can make her an effective advocate for various policies.

She has big ethical issues and possibly an affair the media could go nuts over. Oppo research could turn up even worse, she'd be a wreckless pick for a Republican to be honest.

I don't think the tokenism charge is fair.

She is a reelected Governor of a mid-sized state. White guys reeelected Governor of South Carolina were previously considered plausible veeps including Mark Sanford for McCain in 2008, and Carroll Campbell for Dole in 1996. Prior to that, South Carolina had restrictions against consecutive terms as Governor.

Her resume differs from Palin (first term Governor of one of the smallest states) and Ferraro (third term congresswoman.)

Haley brings executive experience and a no-nonsense like manner. However she may have personal baggage.

Martinez or Ayotte would not be Palin 2.0. Haley would be Palin 2.0.

There, it's not sexist now.

I don't know enough about her to really make a judgement call, is she as dumb as Palin?

...and how! Democrats are pretty good about that double standard nonsense....it's sexist if you go after Hillary, but fair play if Nikki Hanley, Susanna Martinez or even Carly Fiorina...However thankfully most people wouldn't buy the Democrats narrative and call attacking Nikki, Susanna and Carly for what it is...at least they didn't have there husband's coat-tails & besides most if not all Democrats don't buy the meritocracy concept...it's all about buying into the quota system...With minorities or women: anyone who is black and a Republican like Tim Scott...is an 'uncle tom' or Nikki Haley, is a hack...by the by...speaking of which, for all there chit chat about affirmative action and the like....don't see any Democratic Senators or governors who are black...of course you had Barack Obama...but he was the pet poodle of the Kennedy's or Biden's...A novelty if you will...who could make a good speech & that's about it...A one trick pony...making good speeches and apologizing to everyone. Glad his 15 minutes are about up....whew!

Are you on something, bro? Your post is really disjointed and reads like a forwarded email screed.

EDIT: Also, Nikki Haley brings nothing that Bobby Jindal doesn't bring, both positive and negative.

EDIT2: Also, Cory Booker is a Dem Senator and black, Deval Patrick was MA Governor and black. So your post is even more silly.

Haley is no Palin 2.0, but I don't see her as especially gifted, nor do I see her as someone who woo independents especially well.  But as someone who could rally the base, which is the traditional role of a running mate, I think she would do well.  If a moderate Republican wins the nomination, I could see her possibly being the running mate.
