The GOP currently holds 54 U.S. Senate seats.
In order to not lose control of the Senate, the Democrats would have had to win 4 more seats. Which candidates would you have let gain a victory, if you could?

Bellows, Johnson, Curtis (for their ideology), Hagan (to counteract Tillis getting in).

Begich, Braley, Hagan, and Udall. Though a nice fifth choice would be Amanda Curtis.

1) Braley (No more Ernst)
2) Hagan (Need I say more?)
3) Udall
4) Nunn (She would've been an interesting senator, IMO)

5 and 6 would be Begich and Curtis.

1) Mark Udall - A pretty solid liberal and his win would have been a win for safe sex everywhere.

2) Bruce Braley - Awful campaigner, but he would have made an awesome Senator. And he's not Joni Ernst.

3) Kay Hagan - I've grown to like her more. For the state she was in, she voted with leadership a lot (>90% of the time), and anything to stop Tillis from becoming Senator.

4) Rick Weiland - Mainly because he was one of my favorite 2014 Democratic Senatorial candidates.

Bellows, Begich, Grimes and Nunn would have been my next picks.

Haha, and at one point you were calling for her to be primaried out in 2020 -- assuming she had won in 2014. Tongue

That was a long time ago though. I'm shocked you even remember that. Tongue

I'm not the only one, man. You insulted Kay, so naturally Miles remembers too. Wink

Weiland, Begich, Curtis, Hagan
I would take Bellows if it wasn't for Collins being relatively inoffensive.

Pryor and Childers are unelectable in their states in present political climate. That's why i omitted them, despite the fact that i like both.

Other than Rick Weiland (kinda) and Amanda Curtis all of them were really conservative wehateourownparty wearerepublicanslite Democrats.

I don't know if any of them should have been saved, really.

I really don't want Reid to ever be Majority Leader again, but if forced, I'd choose Grimes, Hagan, Begich, and Braley.

It says Democrats only, not closeted Republicans.

It's not like saying that ever keeps away the other party/independents on here.

Begich, Grimes, Hagan, and Landrieu.  Udall, Braley, and Nunn would all be close behind.
