Seriously, think about it. There are some disturbing similarities between the two. Surely I'm not the first to make the comparison?

I think you are.  what are the similarities?  Costanza's defining characteristic was a consciousness, nearing a neurotic obsession, re: his shortcomings.  Bushie, meanwhile, could be under a bridge and feel he's doing just fine, and that God approves of him.
