Looks like Gov.Walker has changed his view on immigration, is he now going to enter a romney esque slide on social issues?

So... he decided he isn't conservative enough already? Great rationale there, Scotty, change your mind so that you're completely against Obama. I bet no Republican has ever thought of that strategy before.

In a Republican primary, that's actually a pretty smart strategy. There's a good chance it'll come back to bite him in the general.

It's a smart move for him.  He needed to get it out of the way.  Hispanics will not vote for Republicans regardless.

Only one GOPer has won the popular vote in the last 6 elections and that was GWBush in 2004, and the biggest swing group for him (compared to 2000 and 20008) was Hispanics (followed by Asians). He didn't And he got their support by supporting comprehensive immigration reform.

If Walker gets Romney-like numbers with non-whites he will need to match Reagan's numbers with whites to make up the dif and win. And running against Hillary, who should at least do better than Obama with white women, means that Walker will need ridiculously high numbers with white men.

Also while Walker is "against amnesty" he has not articulated what he is for. Bush will press him on his solution to what to do with the millions of undocumented. This is where Romney ended up with "self-deporation". What will Walker's answer be? He cant duck it once he is running.
