IIRC, isn't Verin a character from the Song of Ice & Fire saga?  I wasn't familiar with the series until the TV show came along, but having watched the whole thing, I've still no idea who Verin is.

Or do I have things totally mixed up?

Louis, the janitor from Wayside School.

Ah Louis. I still remember that chapter when he tried to sell off some girl's toes.

Right genre, wrong series of books.  Verin was from Wheel of Time.

My favorite obscure character is Speaker-to-Animals.

Ruth, Hero

And while I agree that Vetinari is a great character, I think we've established that he isn't obscure.

Ask 100 people on the street who he is.  See what responses you get.  Smiley

I asked my cubicle-mate at work, and she had no idea who Vetinari was, so I stand corrected.

Actually, now that I think of it, I was at a party, and one of my friends was referred to as a "seamstress".  I was the only one at that party who thought it was funny.
