And being fair to Bongino, he's not some long time perennial candidate, he's only run in 2012 and 2014. Now if he runs in 2016 and loses and then goes on to run in 2018, let's have that talk.

Ideally, I'd want Donna Edwards to replace Mikulski, but the idea of having Van Hollen in the Senate isn't repulsive.

Even if there's a messy primary, it's still Maryland in a Presidential year. I don't see the harm in letting the primary play out. Unlike California, there's no need to worry about top two.

Looks like Van Hollen is using the Harris strategy, announce before everyone knows what hits them and lock up donors/endorsements early. Will it pay off for him as well? Jeb also used a modified strategy like this back in December, and it seemed to work until Romney blunted his momentum.
