All right, so I've decided to host a new one of these election games, and I hope people are interested! If you are new to all of this, here are some past examples of election games that we've finished on the forum:

2000
2004
2008
2012

Rules:

1. Sign up as a candidate by declaring in this thread. You may choose any Democrat from here, and for Republicans, anyone from here. You are also free to sign up as a third-party/independent candidate, but the real fun tends to be in the primaries.

2. When sign-ups have concluded, I will open up a new thread where you will begin playing there.

3. You will create campaign schedules for your candidate in each turn detailing where you go and what you do. Please be reasonable with how much you can fit in their schedule. Failing to produce schedules brings you down in the polls, but if you need to take a break and you make that known, then I will freeze your numbers.

4. Turns will last for 48 hours unless otherwise noted by myself.  Asking for time extensions if necessary is okay.

5. At the beginning of every turn, I will provide updates in the form of polls, news summaries, and other miscellaneous goodies at times. If there is anything you would like for me to publish polling on, PM me your requests.

6. Requests for candidate endorsements will be also given to me via PM. Your endorsements can be used as surrogates out on the campaign trail, which is definitely encouraged. Should you claim momentum, you will be able to get more endorsements.

7. Debates will be held for both parties from time to time. A good debate performance can give you a much needed boost, and skipping them altogether will harm your standing, so it's expected that you participate in them when they come up.

That's what I can come up with for now. Rules might change in the future, and I'll keep you all updated by noting them in this thread.

Calling Rand Paul.

Can we put a cap on third party candidates? It seems we have a major third party candidate every game.

I discouraged people from going third party in my post. If somebody does want to sign up as one, it will be harder for you to gain traction than in past games, since I want to keep this more realistic this time around.

Someone's got to be Hillary, right?

If no else is interested I'll be Hillary, otherwise mark me down as Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY)

Got you down as Hillary.

I'd like to run as Bernie, if possible.

Of course! Got you down too.

Registration has been great so far. I encourage others to join this dogpile and make the game even more entertaining.

Of course not, you're in. I was hoping that somebody would pick Trump.

The campaign thread is now open! We will be playing here for the rest of the game. I can't wait to see how everything goes.
