Adding to the stuff thats being dug out from the foundation maybe Dems need to rethink this coronation, her baggage that I've been talking about it showing.

Welp, Jim Webb is our next President.

Whatever nut the Republicans nominate has a better chance than Webb.

Honestly Webb would have a better chance in the general then the primary. He doesn't have much appeal to the Democratic base outside of veterans groups and the five boll weavel Democrats that are left.

This "scandal" makes Benghazi look like Watergate.

please keep bringing up the failures of the State Department under Secretary Clinton to protect our diplomats every time we hear a story about how she borrowed a paper clip without asking.

What does "possibly" means? Either there was or there wasn't a rule against using private e-mail accounts.
That seems to me like a desperate attempt to create scandal where there isn't.

This seems inconceivable, especially if she was using unencrypted email. She is going to have to explain this.

Regardless of the rules in place, I'd say it is rather stupid to use a personal e-mail account as such a high ranking figure. Moreover, as is mentioned in the text, this means hardly any of her e-mails have been retained for official records.

I'm listening to Morning Joe right now, and they sure seem to be making a big deal out of this. Is the average voter really going to care about her using a private email address? Is there even such thing as a private email address given the NSA?

It's not the e - mail per se...just another example of the idea of "entitlement" the Clinton's have...ethical breaches from the Lincoln bedroom to foreign money donations...it's symptomatic of the type of standards in public life when a Clinton is in the picture. But hey a good economy excuses everything!  Guess the same explanation being used by the Clinton's were used by Nixon over the Chequers affair in 1952, the Hughes loan in '62 & the 'dirty tricks' which lead to Watergate;  anyone remember Whitewater? ...It lead to Monica Lewinsky and impeachment in 1998-99. The problem is the Clinton's never get it, nor does the Democratic party. Everything Hillary does,  be it the defensible or the indefensible is excused or papered over by attacking the misdeeds of somebody else. They, the Clinton's used it against Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones and Monica Lewinsky.  A sordid pattern of abuse and flagrant disregard of a higher standard.  But what can you expect,  after cutting your political teeth in Arkansas? Hick values being expanded to a national scale.

Many top government officials use their personal email for official business. Hillary was only unusual in that she used it exclusively. If there was something wrong with this from a security standpoint, then no one in the government who received or sent emails from her (including presumably the president himself) ever noticed it for four years... doubtful. Most likely they had a way to provide extra security for her personal email.

As for the records keeping issue, it sounds like your typical bureaucratic catch up. Agencies are under all sorts of records keeping mandates from federal law, and due to the slowness of their operation, it can take them years to fulfill these mandates. If anything it's more of a State Department management issue, but in order to really blame Hillary for this, we'd need a comparative to other mandates across all agencies to see if State was really unusually behind in its compliance policies. There's also the question of how much of this is directly managed by the SoS. You'd hope the SoS would have more important things to do than micromanage compliance.

Not that anything is really lost, as I'm sure the NSA has all the records or is able to get them.

In other news, Robert Gibbs is a POS.

Which is possibly why she did it. Remember the Bush email controversy back in 2007 with the "loss" of tons of emails because they weren't sent via official accounts? Same deal.

Those who think this isn't worthy of attention are sort-of right. It is wrong, but no one will care. Concepts like 'rules' and 'best practices' only apply to little people, not the ruling elites.

Why would they notice? It didn't suit them. Don't imagine Obama is getting any sleepless nights over Hillary's missteps . That's not the issue here; the issue is for what purpose she used those emails for. Was it to solicit money for Clinton Foundation activities.  Nobody seems to remember,  this woman and her husband were involved in illegal fundraising back in 1996; it's a pattern of ethical lapses going back before Whitewater, what is troubling the Clinton's are never bothered by the nature of such lapses until they get found out & then come the crocodile tears & lip biting episodes. Can read that pair like a book!
