As noted in that story, Carson still has paid speeches on his calendar as late as late April, and will "probably" launch a formal campaign in May.

Great.  A truly brilliant guy who should have never touched politics.

He's running to sell books at worst, to be a vice presidential choice at best.

Well the latter won't happen, so I wish him the best in selling his books.

Why would he run for Senate? He's not going to win the Presidency or a Senate race, but he could get more influence by running for President.

Any chance he decides not to run, and instead runs for Senate in Maryland?

He said he has no interest. He wouldn't have a chance at this point anyway after becoming the darling of the far right and the Tea Party. Funnily enough, he could've actually been a decent candidate had he stuck to medicine over the past year rather than wade into the presidential waters.

The website Morden listed answers my question that I posted in the Tea Leaves thread.

Finally, we have our first candidate a full 4 months after the Mid-Terms.

Webb has had an exploratory committee since November:

Weird political stances and lack of experience aside, Carson does look more Presidential than some of the "serious" GOP contenders.

Also, love the comments in the YouTube vid

"As a white male I support Ben Carson"
"As a white female I support Ben Carson"

lmao

Pleasant dreams, yes.  All of America knows that Hillary would mop the floor with Carson.

That would have been a wiser better idea. Or perhaps even Michigan last year.

Why would Maryland vote in Ben Carson as Senator? He appeals to the most conservative of conservatives - basically not the kind of people in Maryland.

He wants to get his message out, and the only real way he can do that is run for President.

Yes, running in Michigan- while toning down the more left-field stuff- could have worked very well for him.

But you have to admit a U.S. Senate race between Carson and O'Dully would be one the most awesomest congressional races we have seen in this century (even though the race will be decided in advance).

I hope I'm wrong, but a Black Republican probably has no chance at the White House. But still endorsed:D

Anyone else think that Carson sounds like he's constantly short of breath?

I've noticed that too. He has an odd soft spokeness that doesn't fully jive with his particular brand of batsh!t.
