just curious.  like, i actually have a scorpion soup recipe. was willing to give it a shot since i grew up with ants and bugs so it couldn't be that weird even if it seems to be an asian thing

Ingredients
½ cup vegetable oil
30-40 live scorpions, washed
125g fresh pork
1 large garlic bulb, crushed
fresh ginger root, about 3cm, chopped
salt and pepper
½ litre water
1 handful dried Chinese dates
1 handful dried red berries
1 large carrot, sliced

Preparation
Heat the oil in a large wok. Stir-fry the scorpions for 20 seconds.
Add the pork, garlic, salt and pepper. Stir-fry briefly, then add the
water slowly.

Add the other ingredients and simmer on a low heat for 40 minutes.

I tried to make waffles without eggs. They were basically crepes with bumps.

Why minus the eggs?

I can think of two reasons off the top of my head.  Allergies or a vegan.

A staple of my diet lately has been walnut mince, for use in pasta bolognese, burritos, "meatloaf", and so on.  A mix of walnuts, pepitas, flax seed, optional macadamias (or other nuts), oregano and cumin and then combined with other elements depending on the required texture (for something like meatballs, blend with mustard, a bit of wine, and well cooked lentils), it makes for a hearty and satisfying meal, very filling and works well with tomatoes, onions, peppers and so on.

It's not so much exotic as it is an attempt to prepare vegan food that is not bland or low in nutrients, and as such I find walnuts to be an especially versatile aid.
