Interesting primaries on all sides. Senator McCain upset the incumbent President in the New Hampshire primary, leading President Dole to withdraw from seeking reelection. Despite an effort by the party establishment to coalesce around Governor Bush, they could not overcome McCain's early momentum. For the Democrats, longshot populist Governor Dean overcame a crowded field to win the nomination, selecting 1996 VP nominee Al Gore to rejoin the ticket. A pack of feral libertarians undertook a hostile takeover of the Reform Party, exploiting the division between the Perot and Ventura factions, and drafted Congressman Paul as their nominee. Paul attempted to remove himself from the ballot (not wishing to antagonize the Texas GOP), but the filing deadline had expired in most states.

I guess Paul, though I'm not sure I'm a fan of Buchanan as VP.

Dean, but McCain earns my respect for his maverick-ness.

You people vote for leftist candidates in landslide numbers, and then complain that the election results are "boring." There is simply no way to design a multiplier that makes elections competitive on this site.

There is no mathematical formula to make an election series interesting. It depends on the voters, sure, but it also depends on the ways the universe evolves and the kind of choices that are presented to them. This board is full of election series with competitive elections.
