Not so quick. i will not be too surprised if Menendez oulives Christie. Couple of years ago many people also counted his days in Senate..

Literally this.
He hasn't been declared "guilty" yet.

He's not resigning until he's convicted. The nakedness of the timing is going to hurt the case a lot, and I'm not even sure the charges will hold up under Loretta Lynch.

I'd love to see Watson-Coleman to run in the special senate election if Menendez is convicted. Pallone would be a good senator as well.

Until he is convicted.

That's when I would imagine he'd be inclined to resign.

He'll be forced out after the 2016 elections if he already isn't convicted/accepts plea deal.

As for a possible appointment, my guess is Christie will appoint either Guagdano or Chisea.

Of Course, if Christie isn't the Governor for whatever reason, I would take a bet that Rush Holt or Dawn Zimmer will be appointed (because the vacancy would be in Early 2018 instead).

Probably Pallone would get the nod. He has wanted to be a US Senator for like a decade now. Watson-Coleman is just a freshman congresswoman.

Plus, isn't she like 70?
