FF. Foreigners will probably vote FF more often than Australians, but I think she was in an almost impossible position from the start with resentment over the feud with Rudd and the lack of either a popular or legislative majority...

The most famous person ever to come from Barry, therefore obviously an FF. Which leads me to wonder: how do you explain Barry to Americans? Imagine if Coney Island were a coal port?

She's from Barry? Obvious FF!

Anyway she made the best from a pretty impossible situation. I think her voice set her back in politics. Pity, she definitely had a lot of political talent.

Don't agree with everything she did but she's a clear FF nonetheless.

Had her flaws (too beholden to the general populus on immigration, too beholden to the SDA on SSM, etc.), but on balance I'll say FF. Certainly didn't deserve the level of crap she got from the media.

A great person, but she showed she still had a lot to learn when it came to retail politics.

Not entirely a great PM, but she was easily one of the best people to have served as PM.

I saw her on CSPAN at the Brookings Institute in DC a few months ago and found her to be a very intelligent and interesting person. I'm inclined to vote HP due to her policies, but I really enjoyed hearing her thoughts.

Really not a good choice for the ALP when it comes to electoral politics and her initial elevation was a mistake. She certainly showed a lot of tone-deafness politically (e.g. all that values nonsense), and I really think her talents would have been better used as a non-prime ministerial frontbencher.

That said, she was certainly effective at passing legislation and for each one of her missteps (like that very watered down mining tax) she had a great achievement (like the Murray-Darling Basin plan) to go with it.

So a net FF, especially considering the very unwarranted personal negativity directed towards her.

I was reasonably fond of her; her determination not to succumb to the most blistering and vile attacks from her opposition, and her independent-mindedness in particular. FF.

I've always really liked her. Shame about the circumstances she was stuck in, but she seemed like a great person.

Oh, Windjammer, this is just the tip of the ice berg of the vile, repugnant, and infantile things said about her.

As for my opinion, she's a marvelous person and PM. She will always be one of my personal favorites.

The Christmas email I got from her a few years ago was also nice. Grin

The reason I joined the ALP, the best PM in my life time will be remembered as a ground breaker and tenacious leader.
