Christ guys Russia was very average.
Welcome to the Eurovision Political Contest, Australia!
I know how Eurovision works.

But they're getting big votes from everywhere.
They always do - as there are Russians all over Europe. They just vote for themselves in the country where they live...

They were.

We only got five points. Sad

We should enter our own Scottish entry - we might do better...

Looks like not having a semi is a huge huge killer. Australia still made top 5, yay, but of all the other six the best result was Spain with a measly 10 points for a fantastic song.

0 for Germany and Austria, the first 0 points for any song since 2003, and for it to be two in one go, is pretty crazy as well.

I'd be absolutely shocked if the same system is used next year.

I voted for Latvia & Belgium, very happy to see them up there but jeesh Sweden did not deserve to win, such a boring song.

Austria and Germany both getting 0 points is laughable and funny at the same time ... Tongue

2 countries ranked us 11th (which still means no points, because only #1-10 get them):

Latvia and Switzerland

Australia ranked us (seems odd saying "us" for the UK - I campaigned for Scottish Independence...) 11th. I don't know about anyone else.

Surprised San Marino have the UK three points though.

Maybe we received 0 votes because of Conchita-overkill ... Tongue

Otherwise I don't have an explanation for it.

Man Eurovision sucks. All these songs I'm hearing are terrible.

Why is there never any good DIY scene music at Eurovision? Has there ever been a hardcore, post-hardcore, (real) emo, pop-punk, post-rock, etc. song there submitted by any country?

Um, no. That's also awful and it sounds like AC/DC or something.

I'm talking like this (Germany) or this (France) or this (Italy) or this(Norway).

No - Europe wouldn't vote for those sort of songs.

Yeah - that doesn't surprise me. A lot of people expected Australia to do much better with the juries than the popular votes. What's shocking is the position of Italy and Sweden, particularly Italy.
