Horrible executive decision. Recognition doesn't make sense if we don't have any framework for making relations workable. Also, a decision of such magnitude should not be make singlehandely, with the population at best divided on the issue.

We thank Atlasia, her government and her people, for this recognition. We look forward to an era of fruitful diplomacy.

I'm in favour of establish good relations with South America, but I think that it should be debated by the Senate. An executive order is not the right thing.

Agreed. Unilateral recognition tramples upon the Constitutional separation of powers: the Senate should have a voice in this.

I'm sorry to say this, Mr. President, but you are doing another wrong thing. This time, the Senate will not be silent.

While you're issuing executive orders, could you please reopen the stock exchange so that our economy has a chance to revive?

Well, that's nice that the President actually did something this time, even if his action was wrong.

Now, was that a brief outburst of energy or you're now going to be doing your job, like actually trying to fill the cabinet and GM positions? And will you reopen the f**king stock exchange? Because, under any normal government, you'd long be gone in disgrace for this alone.

That's an oversight of mine, I apologise

Regarding the Cabinet you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink, there simply is not the interest in those positions.

Have you actually tried to recruit anybody or you're just waiting for a PM?

We shouldn't recognize Sudamerica South America until they recognize us. According to their leader, Atlasia is some sort of socialist wasteland. Obviously this must be another "Atlasia," because that's not us.

Oversight, Mr. President? Considering how often it was mentioned, including to you DIRECTLY (as you'll see in that link, you explicitly responded to a post by the Pacific Speaker Classic Conservative asking you to reopen the stock exchange) that's one BIG oversight!

I mean, apparently you read the post you responded to in that link, right? Either you read the post, and simply ignored the call to reopen the stock market (in which case it wasn't an oversight, but just a casual disregard of your job), read the post, and forgot the mention of the stock market, or just skimmed over the post but responded anyway (the last two--forgetting and skimming-yet-responding--are both rather scary for a president to be doing).

No matter how this is looked at, it's not good.

The bore Presidency:

1. 90% of the time he's simply ignoring everything
2. 8% of the time he's complaining that nothing can be done without actually trying
3. 2% of the time he's taking some minor action, like signing a bill when notified

I don't really have an opinion of this court case, and I have no idea what the outcome would be, but we don't have the luxury of finding out. The RG is one of the most important offices in this game and we can't have it going out of action, especially now.

This seems the right thing to do. So Adam has to be re-confirmed now?

Thank you, Mr. President - now we can hopefully move on from these ridiculous and unfounded shenanigans!

This seems the right thing to do. So Adam has to be re-confirmed now?

Presumably, yes. I will be waiting until the Speaker opens the confirmation hearing (which will hopefully be an expedient one) and I am re-confirmed before re-assuming any of the duties of the office of Registrar General. Even with an EO issued, this presumably works the same way as any other appointment and so I do not want to risk opening myself up to any further legal trolling following the pardon.

I commend the President for recognizing the extent and guilt of Mr. Griffin in his crimes against Atlasia. Although I disagree with his pardon, I understand that it shoes a deep concern for the health of Mr. Griffin, who could not have taken the double blow of a landslide defeat in the presidential election combined AND a long stay in prison. Poor man!

This is clearly a good move by the President, and shows again how he's been a stabilizing force for Atlasia

Thank-you, Mr. President, for sparing the nation from a protracted and frivolous court case.

Since the case has been rendered null and void and thus dismissed I think I'm safe in revealing that all three of us on the Court were actually in agreement that it was an open and shut case against the RG. Nothing frivolous about it.

Given the background of this case, expecting Oakvale to remain impartial as Justice would be naive.

Ah, I smell another witch hunt brewing! Keep the crooks in office, but make sure to wring the government of any competent official left.
