There's one on the leadership currently, and I think one's been done on all 100 Senators before, but never to my memory on a dream House delegation. Though 435 is obviously way too many to do so I would strongly recommend you only do your state. Tongue

It is a dream, so this can be as unrealistic as you want it to be.

Mine for Ohio's:

Senator (Class I) - Sherrod Brown (D)
Senator (Class III) - P.G. Sittenfeld (D)

Ohio's 1st congressional district: Micah Kamrass (D) (or possibly Connie Pillich (D) or Alicia Reece (D))
Ohio's 2nd congressional district: Jerry Springer (D)
Ohio's 3rd congressional district: Mike Stinziano (D)
Ohio's 4th congressional district: Dan Ramos (D)
Ohio's 5th congressional district: Joel M. Kuhlman (D)
Ohio's 6th congressional district: Lou Gentile (D)
Ohio's 7th congressional district: John Boccieri (D)
Ohio's 8th congressional district: Anyone But Boehner (D or R)
Ohio's 9th congressional district: Nickie J. Antonio!!! (D)
Ohio's 10th congressional district: Nan Whaley (D)
Ohio's 11th congressional district: Nina Turner (D)
Ohio's 12th congressional district: John Patrick Carney (D)
Ohio's 13th congressional district: Kathleen Clyde (D) (once Ryan runs statewide)
Ohio's 14th congressional district: Armond Budish (D)
Ohio's 15th congressional district: Heather Bishoff (D)
Ohio's 16th congressional district: Betty Sutton (D)

Oh hey, mine's easy, I only need to have six (House plus Senate).

Senator: Rocky Anderson (J) (former mayor of Salt Lake City, 2012 presidential nominee of the Justice Party)
Senator: Brian King (D) (currently a state rep)

Utah's 1st Congressional District: Donna McAleer (D)
Utah's 2nd Congressional District: Jim Dabakis (D) (currently a state senator)
Utah's 3rd Congressional District: I literally don't know any Dem in Utah that lives within the boundaries of Chaffetz's district. I don't think even his Dem opponent lived outside the district.
Utah's 4th Congressional District: Luz Robles (D) (currently a state senator)

Just getting congressional representation would be a dream in itself. The actual officeholders would be secondary.

That said:

Senator: Elissa Silverman (I)
Senator: Kenyan McDuffie (D)

U.S. Representative (At-Large): David Grosso (I)

I always thought that DC should one Senator and one U.S. House Representative who can vote like any other member of Congress.

Then again, DC has a larger population than Wyoming and Vermont, but they get Representation...

California... here we go.

Senator: Kamala Harris
Senator: John Chiang

CA-10: Jose M. Hernandez
CA-21: Amanda Renteria
CA-25: Lee Rogers
CA-39: Sharon Quirk-Silva
CA-45: Sukhee Kang
CA-49: Darrell Issa doesn't really have any credible challengers, but any of his Democratic opponents that have ever ran against him would probably be better.

Final delegation 47-8 Democratic.

Why just one senator? Like you said, more people live in the nation's capital than in some states.

Senators: Marcia Moody, Maggie Hassan (I'd pick her for Governor but my ideal governor would be pro-legalization - Marcia Moody is a state rep who's fairly progressive)
NH-1: Carol Shea-Porter (anti-NSA, progressive as all hell. I'd pick myself once I'm 25)
NH-2: Steve Shurtleff (he's sufficiently progressive and would probably vote against cromnibus)

PA:

Senators: Daylin Leach (one of the best politicians in the country), Patrick Murphy (former 700 Level security guard at The Vet, Iraq War vet, progressive, all-around badass)

Incomplete but to hell with it.
PA-4: Mike Folmer (R, marijuana advocate. Doesn't actually live here but his district is part of it)
PA-6: Kathleen McGinty (great on the environment)
PA-7: Joe Sestak (pretty awesome too)
PA-8: Shaughnessy Naughton (scientist, lost to Strouse in the primary but can make waves here)
PA-10: Chris Carney (if you vote for Obamacare in an R+8 district you're good enough)
PA-11: Paul Kanjorski (I love that old bastard)
PA-12: Probably one of my RL friends (R)
PA-13: Joe Hoeffel (though Shapiro would be great)
PA-14: Mike Doyle
PA-15: John Hanger
PA-16: One of my best friends from college (R)
PA-17: Matt Cartwright

Ohio's 13th congressional district: Kathleen Clyde (D)

Oh heck no. Please, merciful God, no.
I can see how you may not like her as an Ohio Republican who lives in that district, but she's awesome, plain and simple. She's been very vocal in the Democratic caucus on the ORP's attacks on voting and reproductive rights, and she has very strong potential for higher office.

LA

Senate:
Mary Landrieu
Richard Ieyoub

LA-01:
David Duke would be a thorn in the side of the House Republicans and a PR nightmare for leadership.
My non-troll answer would be John Georges.

LA-02:
Helena Moreno; a young, impressive state rep. from New Orleans.

LA-03:
Don Cravins, Jr.; was Landrieu's chief of staff. He's younger and (while he served Landrieu) was the only black Senate chief of staff. He lives right outside the district, but redistricting was generally not kind to Acadiana.

LA-04:
Buddy Roemer (I think he's left the Republicans) He's underrated, IMO, and he's been vocal about campaign finance reform.

LA-05:
Gonna be a bit selfish here and select uncle, State Rep. Chris Hazel of Rapides parish. He's in the anti-Jindal faction of the party, so thats another plus.

LA-06:
Meh, I like Garret Graves. He'll probably be a party-line vote, but is in a unique position to promote coastal restoration.

NC

Senate:
Kay Hagan
Josh Stein

NC-01:
Bev Perdue's home of New Bern is in the district. It wouldn't be far-fetched to have her repping a black-majority district. She's had strong relations with the black community; she appointed the first black women state supreme court justice, for example. Lindy Boggs represented LA-02 when it was made black-majority, so similar situation here.

NC-02:
Elaine Marshall; my favorite statewide NC official.

NC-03:
Walter Jones; best Republican in the House.

NC-04:
Brad Miller; hopefully he actually gets it if Price retires.

NC-05:
Sam Ervin IV; a justice on the NC supreme court who's grandfather was a Senator. He lives a county or two out of the district (but so does Virginia Foxx).

NC-06:
Howard Coble; I liked him and he's something of a badass.

NC-07:
Mike McIntyre

NC-08:
Larry Kissell

NC-09:
Jeff Jackson; one of the best rising stars the state Democrats have.

NC-10:
Walter Dalton

NC-11:
Patsy Keever

NC-12:
Anthony Foxx

NC-13:
Linda Coleman

Senators:
Tom Harkin (Really wish he hadn't decided to retire)
Tom Vilsack (Don't know if he's actually interested in running, but I'd like to see him as a senator)

House:
District 1 - Anesa Kajtazovic (Came in fourth in the Dem primary for 2014, but she's got a really interesting story and she's really young. Monica Vernon will probably be the Dem nominee here in 2016 though)

District 2 - Dave Loebsack (Everybody always calls him vulnerable but he always wins by decent margins)

District 3 - Brad Anderson (Dem SoS nominee for 2014. Of all Democrats that ran that year, he was the best performing non-incumbent, losing by only two points against a former Secretary of State and kept Paul Pate under 50%. Lives in Des Moines, but he recently got a job with a non-profit so I doubt he actually runs.)

District 4 - Jim Mowrer (Though Christie Vilsack has better name recognition, I thought she ran a very underwhelming campaign. Mowrer, though he lost by a bigger margin than Vilsack, I think ran a much better campaign)

Truly the dream:

Senators
Kathleen Sebelius-Fmr. Kansas Governor, fmr. HHS Secretary
Jim Slattery-Fmr. US Rep (KS-02)

House
KS-01: Jim Sherow-2014 KS-01 candidate, professor, fmr. Manhattan mayor
KS-02: Paul Davis-2014 Gubernatorial candidate, fmr. state rep
KS-03: Mark Holland-(very progressive) Mayor of Kansas City, Kansas
KS-04: Dennis McKinney-Fmr. state rep, fmr. Insurance Commissioner OR
Carl Brewer-Wichita Mayor

And if I had to settle for non-Dems:

Senators
Greg Orman-2014 senate candidate, businessman
Steve Morris-Fmr. Kansas Senate president

House
KS-01: Sheila Frahm-Fmr. US Senator, Fmr. Lt. Governor OR Bill Kassebaum-Fmr. State rep
KS-02: Tom Sloan-State rep OR Chris Clemmons-2014 KS-02 Libertarian candidate, and although I strongly dislike Libertarians, he's more of a progressive
KS-03: Barbara Bollier-State rep
KS-04:Carolyn McGinn-State senator

Oklahoma Senators
Mick Cornett (R) (One of the rare Oklahoma Republicans who isn't a corrupt technocrat or just plain wacky)
Connie Johnson (D) (Love her stances on social issues, probably would be a back bencher on most other issues anyway)

District 1 - Jim Bridenstine (R) (He's kind of a bonehead but otherwise Tulsa could absolutely do worse)
District 2 - Randy Brogdon (R) (See: Bridenstine, except this is a non-Tulsa district)
District 3 - Patrick Anderson (R) (Endorsed Dorman over Fallin, good enough in a meh distrct)
District 4 - Joe Dorman (D) (Cole is okay but Dorman is very good, so I'll put Dorman here)
District 5 - Al McAffrey (D) (Would be the first gay congressman of Oklahoma, and since I already made Cornett the Senator...)

Republicans my state are truly awful and there are few Democrats who aren't fringe college professors or equally as bad. (Only decided against Brad Henry because I want him to be Governor again)

Honorable Mention: The Return of Tom Coburn as Senator.

Washington:

Senators: I think the two we have right now are actually pretty decent. No complaints with either one here.

WA-1: Suzan Delbene.
WA-2: Rick Larsen
WA-3: Tim Leavitt (current Vancouver Mayor, probably one of the rare people with the profile to hold this district for the D's)
WA-4: Dan Newhouse is actually a pretty perfect fit for this district. The local D's are just Latino machine politicians and you could turn up much worse people in this part of the state who don't have the agricultural know-how of a Newhouse.
WA-5: Realistically, Kevin Parker, a GOP state rep my wife has met and spoke highly of (his work with the homeless is great). Ideally, Jon Snyder, our resident new urbanist progressive here in Spokane.
WA-6: Derek Kilmer
WA-7: Jaime Pedersen (his husband was the Vice Principal at my high school)
WA-8: Christopher Hurst, realistically one of the only D's who could hold this spot. Would be a Blue Dog for sure.
WA-9: If not Adam Smith, then Cyrus Habib, who will be somebody to watch in the coming years here.
WA-10: Melanie Stambaugh is a pretty interesting figure (only 24 years old and a genuine moderate), but from a purely partisan standpoint Denny Heck will have to do.
