His only primary opponent (that I know of) is Elizabeth Childs, a former Democrat from Brookline.

Good luck to him, but it's hopeless in a presidential year when your opponent is a Kennedy.

Sean Bielat isn't the type of candidate who could win a congressional race here, even if he wasn't facing a Kennedy.

I don't really see how he's particularly unelectable by the standards of MA Republicans.  Of course, it'd be a stretch for anyone with an (R) after their name to get elected anywhere in MA.

(Though the MAGOP is so fail, topping off not even running candidates in over half the state house races with nominating a child molester and a birther in their two top congressional pick-up opportunities).

As far as i remember him - too conservative for district even in year like 2010. In 2012 - no chances...

Granted there's not an especially large pool of successful of folks to choose from, but successful candidates for congress have always come from the State Legislature or had some other history of past office. It's especially important in a state like Massachusetts to have a solid base of voters in your corner before running for office.

Democratic hold. As it was from the beginning. The only district in Massachusetts, where Republicans have chance, is 6th. But - not with Gingrich or Santorum at the top.

Is Joe Kennedy IV a future Senate prospect in 2018 assuming Brown-R survives or Warren-D decides to retire or run for higher office.). Joe's grandfather Bobby was elected to the US Senate at age of 38, granduncle Jack was 35, and granduncle Ted was 30 when they were first elected to the US Senate.  This is if Joe Kennedy IV wants to run for his granduncles old US Senate Seat.

Given this generation of Kennedys, doubtful- but never say never.
