Thoughts?

I'd love a Cuomo/Warren ticket.

No, not even if the next half-dozen possible Dem candidates (including Hilary) drop out.

In a world without Clinton, Biden, and Warren, he'd get some real traction, but I don't think he'd actually win the nomination.

Andrew Cuomo has a better shot at ending up in prison than he does of winning the nomination.  Mario Cuomo still has a better shot at winning the Democratic nomination than Andrew.

Becoming Gov of NY ruined any chances of him becoming president as he had to deal with the Eliot Spitzer aftermath and GOP in the state legislature, OMalley has clearly become the alternative to Clinton.

Huh??

Elliot Spitzer had been out as governor for at least 2 years prior to Cuomo being elected governor. I fail to see how that made a difference one way or the other.

Given Cuomo's failure to help Democratic state legislative candidates, I highly doubt he minds that the Republicans control the state senate.

I was reminding that the voters remember that Eliot Spitzer too compromised with state GOP at his own peril and opened up in investigation to his personal life. Without the scandal, Cuomo's divorce from Kerry Kennedy is open to public as well.

And seen by progressives as too conservative.

Cuomo has no shot and as far as I'm concerned he'd get crushed in the general. A lot of progressives would stay home or vote third party and he's a gun grabber that has zero crossover appeal accept to moderate pro business types who live in blue states anyway.

Progressives voting third party en masse? Are you serious? First off, they'd likely view Walker, Bush, etc. as worse than Cuomo and vote for Cuomo to vote against the republican nominee. Second, let's look at some third party candidates in detail:
Johnson (Lib) - Complete Fiscal Conservative, Favors Legalizing Cocaine, Heroin, etc.
Stein (Gre) - Favors Legalizing Cocaine, Heroin, etc.
Anderson (Justice) - Complete Joke, couldn't even crack .1% in 2012.
Barr (Peace and Freedom) - See Anderson
-Constitution Party Candidate-  LOLOLOLOL

None of the above would ever attract a large portion of today's progressive voters.

Some would vote third party, others would stay home. The only reason Cuomo was reelected is because he bought off the working families party and had such a big lead to begin with. The Green Party candidate in the state of New York got like 5% of the vote. Cuomo is hated by both the left and right.

I also don't think that the legalizing hard drugs thing would be a deal breaker. A lot of people on the left recognize the problems in the war on drugs and would be open to trying something new.

Only if Hillary dies, just like everyone else's chances at winning the nomination.

Cheesy Oohhh yeahhhh....

On topic though, I don't think Cuomo would have a shot at the nomination. While the Democratic bench is thin, we still have better candidates than Cuomo. Hardcore liberals would be dissatisfied and he would fail to win over independents or even any conservatives. There is zero benefit to nominating Cuomo. Even if he won, Democrats wouldn't like it.
