Thanks for the timely hint, guys. I hope this poll doesn't include any silly mistakes...

This is a follow-up to this poll.

There are currently 31 Republicans, 18 Democrats, and one independent that hold the office of governor in the states. In order to receive a balance - I classify Alaska Governor Bill Walker as belonging to the Democratic column -, we should have carried six further governor races.
To whom would you convey the governors' residences if you could?

Ross (good fit for Arkansas, lines up with my views)
Carter (Purple heart his dad, make Georgia Atlas red, lines up with my views)
Michaud (bye bye LaPage, working class union supporter, plus gay)
Davis (not the abortion chick, Brownback sucks)
King (anti-Martinez vote, want Bruce King back)
Dorman (give Oklahoma some Brad Henry-esque government back instead of insane Mary Fallin)

Burke (knocks Walker out of 2016), FitzGerald (More Irish women and knocking Kasich out), Paul Davis (Brownback is awful), Michaud (would be a great governor), Crist (Scott is a criminal), Brown (Hogan is a corporate stooge).

(Side note - surprised at the lack of Quinn votes so far. I'd expect him to be one of the leading choices)

I've realized it, too.
But ... he's still among the top 6.

1) Ed FitzGerald - I turned 20 on Election Day last year and this would have been the ultimate birthday wish. We need a Democrat desperately in the Ohio Governor Mansion who's ready to veto income tax cuts and veto cuts to schools and social services in the budget, and veto "fetal heartbeat", "license to discriminate", voter ID, and other things. I also trust Fitzy to be more present in public matters and events in the state than Kasich has so far.

2) The People's Pat - He accomplished so much for his state like abolishing capital punishment and passing marriage equality. He's for the people, while the union busting Rauner is for the Koch's.

3) Paul Davis - It's pretty sad when I as an Ohioan care more about this state than actual Kansans do. Browncrook can't manage to keep the state from going bankrupt, and he can't manage to not be a total douche.

4) Mike Michaud - He's a thousand times more competent than LePage, and Michaud, whose views are pretty consistent with the state, definitely would have made a great governor.

5) Anthony Brown - He may suck at campaigning, but Maryland needs him right now. I find it disgusting that Hogan thinks it's okay for Medicaid providers to deny minorities in his state coverage.

6) Mary Burke - To keep right-to-work from passing there and more importantly, end Scott Walker's 2016 prospects.

Burke (because Walker is getting Brownback/Corbett tier)
Crist (just to knock out Scott)
Carter (I do not like Deal)
Paul Davis (knock out the worst governor in America)
Quinn (because Bruce Koch is bad)
Michaud (LePage is crap)

Ross (good fit for Arkansas, lines up with my views)
Carter (Purple heart his dad, make Georgia Atlas red, lines up with my views)
Michaud (bye bye LaPage, working class union supporter, plus gay)
Davis (not the abortion chick, Brownback sucks)
King (anti-Martinez vote, want Bruce King back)
Dorman (give Oklahoma some Brad Henry-esque government back instead of insane Mary Fallin)

Eh, I wouldn't say that about Dorman. I like Dorman a lot, but Dorman takes a lot of hard stands (pro-gun rights, pro-life), whereas Henry, on a lot of hot button issues, tried to pretend they didn't exist. Henry strikes me as more of a technocrat and more pragmatic than Dorman.

Ross is pretty hard line too, if I recall correctly?

Crist (He's not Rick Scott.)

Carter (He would've made for a very interesting governor, and might've better reflected Georgia's changing demographics.)

P. Davis (Great candidate, great campaign, would've beaten that anti-education asshole Browncrap in a better year or a bluer state for sure.)

Michaud (He's not Paul LePage.)

Schauer (He's not Rick Snyder.)

Burke (Not the best campaigner, but you know that she would've done more for education in Wisconsin than dearest Scotty.)

As a D-leaning I, I voted Crist, Carter, Quinn, Davis, Michaud, and Brown, with Burke as runner-up.

I'm pro-gun and pro-life, so even better I guess.

Huh. I knew you were pro-life, didn't know you were pro-gun. Finally something we agree on Wink
