I find it funny that Oakvale keeps claiming that those who are not to his liking should be banned, yet it seems like he spends half the time in chat gleefully making fun of them.  In other words, he criticizes the same system for which he leaches off of, which is one of the sole reasons why he posts here in the first place (aka to make fun of other people, rather than contribute anything of real value).  This, in my opinion, diminishes his worth as a poster.

FF, though Paul Kemp is an HP. Being cynical is a two way street. You can be cool or terrible. Oakvale is clearly awesome.

One of the reasons I grew apart from Atlasforum chat was just how nasty it had become and how bored I was listening to some crap about posts made on boards I hardly ever visit anyway and by posters I never interact with. Yea, there is crap on the internet, go figure. I cannot for the life of me understand why Oakvale has decided to make this his Quixotic passion these past two years or so.

I think people need to take some of what oakvale says...less seriously. The concept of banter seems alien to a lot of people here but then that might be a cultural divide to some extent.

It is also amusing that we've had like 2 people openly say anything negative in the thread, yet the poll is tied. Lol.

Oakvale is a fine poster and an actual sane person who does not have despicable views. That alone makes him like a top 10% poster.

Oakvale is a fine poster and an actual sane person who does not have despicable views. That alone makes him like a top 10% poster.

If people said the same things about Oakvale of which Oakvale has said of others, they'd be banned from chat no question.  Thus, It seems that he himself should take things less seriously as well, if all things said are simply considered "banter".

 I admit, I am guilty of the crime posted above, but I (and of course Oakvale himself) have said worse things on chat without any consequences.  It just goes to show that Oakvale is simply banning me for personal politics and his own insecurities, yet it seems he didn't have the guts to say so.

Just two years ago he was at 65-35, and I seem to recall him once being near 80% but I might be mistaken on that.

Anything, even the best of things, can be taken too far.

The chat room is this forum on steroids (and equally as 'early 2000's' in execution)  People in it are grating in a way you're not allowed to be on here which makes posters like oakvale, see posters on here in a new light. The more time I spend on chat (and I don't spend much time on there), the more I 'hate' you all on here.

Now take this, and multiply it by 1,000.  That's what Oakvale's been doing in chat.  Again, I love his argument that "people r 2 senastive!1!" yet he gets so offended if you think his chat is boring, or if you say something to him that he would say to you etc etc. [/hypocrisy]
