8 days a week?

This is an eight day poll.
Well, you have 27 choices and I hope that's enough.
That's more than the number of letters in the alphabet.
You only get one choice, but you can change your vote as often as you like.
The reason for this poll is that I am wondering how many of you are
ok with the status quo. I don't see why we need to stick with the status quo.
You can comment, of course, on how you voted and why and complain about the options etc.
but you already knew that.

I need more options.

I prefer an eight day week. It could be a way of working five days and being off three,
which would appeal to me. The problem with an 8 day week is that one would have
to work more than eight hours a day in order to get three days off in order to earn
as much as one currently earns in a seven day week.
One way to achieve this is to take one vacation day a week, but since there would
be 45 1/2 weeks in a year (45 1/2 * 8 = 364),  most people would be unable
to take an extra day every week since most people don't have 45 vacation days a year.

I still think that it is something to consider. Another option, a ten day week is something
to explore.

Sounds good to me. I created an excel file when the 8th day would be. We can still observe it if we want on a personal level. Every 8th day starting March 11 is 'funday'. So the next funday is March 19. etc. It may not catch on, but it's worth a try.

I think a better way to do this would to put "Funday" after Friday... and then Saturday can still be Saturday and then Sunday can still be used for the only things Sunday is good for.  Football and recovering from the weekend.

That is exactly what I was thinking.
But on the 7 day calendar it is going to be
on the 8th day which means unless the calendar is changed for real it will be on Thursday next week and Friday the following week and then Saturday etc. The reason I started my hypothetical calendar on the 8th day on March 11, is because
that is the day I created my hypothetical calendar. If this calendar were ever to become a reality the eighth day would be between Friday
and Saturday. Actually it would be the 7th day and Saturday the eighth if Sunday were the first day.

I am thinking about an even more important change, where we could have up
to five more personal holidays.
Five out of Six don't make sense.
NY's day makes sense, but the year shouldn't start until after the last day of February.
For example the year could start on May 1.
The reason we have few complaints about the crazy holiday schedule is
because why complain about extra days off?
The point is that the other five holidays could be replaced with "mandatory" (you would
be given them by law)  days off
whenever one wanted to take them.
The other USA five legal holidays are Memorial Day, 4th of July,
Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas all of which could be moved to Saturdays or Sundays.
Since we would have five personal holidays, anyone could take the Friday of the holiday weekend off.

Memorial Day and Labor Day make no sense as they are.
Independence Day doesn't have to be on the fourth (note: President's Day and MLK Day were changed to the same day each week, why not make all five holidays on Saturdays for those of us who work
M-F?)
Thanksgiving could be in September or (like in
Canada) in October and Christmas could be in
November (Jesus was not born in the winter and
who feels like celebrating anything in the winter?)

Also change election day to a Friday or Saturday or both. Tuesday makes no sense.
