Why are we revisiting 1988 when the next election is going to be awful enough on it's own?

I would prefer a Harvard JD for my president, but a Yale JD for my Supreme Court Chief Justice. (normal)

I don't think most people would care.
I'd rather someone not be a lawyer at all. Sure studying how to be an expert liar creates the skills necessary to be a successful politician, but I don't see how that is something to actually desire in a candidate.

Harvard JD, though either shows that person is capable of practicing law.

I thought this was a question regarding which one someone should get, in which case my answer would be "neither".

As someone who knows a little about the legal profession, I feel the need to qualify this. In terms of intelligence, certainly. In terms of actual qualification to perform a given legal task, that is far from known.

I'd go even further than that and say I'd prefer someone who didn't go to college. We need less college graduates in government.

It would actually be better if it did not matter either way.
