The fact that he knows he's holding steady in the 0-2% range is telling. Far too often candidates overestimate themselves drastically (Romney in 2012 anyone?), but he knows he's a nobody right now. He talks like he's got some magic kryptonite up his sleeve that he's not going to use on Hillary until his campaign starts, but I have to agree with IceSpear, I think he's running to be veep. He doesn't really bring anything to the table in regards to electoral strategy, but I guess if Hillary feels like the base won't turn out, she might pick him.

To get completely off topic for a second: he would have a great shot at the nomination if Hillary weren't running. He's very Howard Dean-esque on policy, but very Bill Clinton-esque in his slow, shrewd coordinating of his pre-campaign campaign. Just saying that for people who call him a buffoon who has no hope of being president. If Hillary weren't in the race, things wouldn't look so bleak for him.
