The jist of it...

Minnesota based General Mills buys Yoplait and realizes Yoplait is part of a French cartel of yogurt and dairy companies colluding to drive up prices in French supermarkets.  General Mills notified the French authorities.

More likely General Mills just didn't want to deal with it.  By exposing it, they are immune to fines.  Still, a win for French consumers.
