Baseball, American football, and basketball, but a strong preference for college on all 3, rather than pro.

Write-in: Curling

On this list: Hockey, soccer, cricket (even though I know more about baseball, basketball and American football than cricket, I do prefer cricket)

Of those listed?

Hockey (duh)
Baseball
Soccer (World Cup is great fun!)
American football

Cricket is literally just primitive baseball.  Sorry.  I've played cricket in Australia and I can't see how anyone familiar with baseball would want to play this horribly rudimentary version of it.  Elaboration often makes things better.

Basketball is just insanely boring.  Beer pong is 1,000,000x better if you want to throw a ball into a "goal".

The only only sport I will actually schedule into my daily life to watch is TENNIS, and even then that is only for about two weeks of the year when the Australian Open is on, and that isn't on this poll. I also don't enjoy playing tennis as far as I know.

Besides that, I enjoy watching American football sometimes. As a rule sports are super boring unless it's very close and the end of the game.

1. Tennis
2. (College) Basketball
3. Baseball

4. European Soccer
5. (College) Football - SEC and FCS and some Big Ten
6. (College) Lacrosse
(The rest of College Football)

(Mostly just the playoffs with intensity though some regular season)
7. Pro Hockey
8. (College) Baseball
9. (College) Hockey

I know more about the NFL then I should for someone who watches like 5 games a year. Thanks ESPN. And despite hating the NBA, LeBron may be my favorite athlete.

I like soccer and baseball.  I played baseball for many years in my youth, as well as on an intramural league in grad school.  My son played soccer for several years, although he didn't this year.

The others are okay, but I have no emotional attachment to them.  I have, at one time or another, played all of them at least informally, except cricket.

1. Football
2. Baseball
3. Hockey

I have truly given basketball and soccer a try, and I honestly rate them about where I rate stock car racing, which is woefully and numbingly boring. I can't sit through nascar, basketball, or soccer.

I'd have to look up what cricket is, honestly.

Are you joking? Cricket has one of the most intricate set of rules ('laws'), playing techniques and other variables of any sport.

Football and Basketball. I have trouble getting invested in hockey because I don't have a local team to root for, but if a team moved to Seattle I'd give it a shot.

The only sport I hate is baseball.

I picked cricket, baseball, basketball, and football, but I like (and follow) a large number of sports. As everyone here ought to know, baseball has always been my favorite sport; for years my second-favorite was football, but now it's basketball. I strongly prefer college football to professional football, whereas with basketball I can acknowledge that the professional version is better while still caring much more about college. I like tennis and I wish I knew more about it. I've never really been able to get into soccer or hockey.

I enjoy a lot of other sports (my partiality to gymnastics has been well noted), but the most obscure sport I seriously follow is probably lacrosse. From an aesthetic standpoint, I prefer the women's game to the men's; it's much easier to watch, largely because there's less hitting and more passing. I am a serious fan of the Maryland Terrapins, the #1 women's lacrosse team in the country; I was one of the 1,500 in attendance last Saturday when Maryland defeated #5 Syracuse, 10-7. At this point I fully expect a second consecutive national championship.

Soccer and Football are my two favorites and the ones I really follow closely, followed by Hockey and Basketball as ones I watch occasionally. (Probably would be easier to get into them if we had the Sonics/when we get an NHL team).

Baseball and cricket are both sports that are just too slow paced for me.

Cricket, and to a lesser extent soccer. Don't have a strong opinion of hockey, don't really enjoy the other three for various reasons (though I'm certain that would change if I was American rather than Australian - I do really enjoy the more Australian forms of football).

I like Australian football a lot and I watch a good deal of it. Rugby league bores me.

I wish the SEC played lacrosse -- I've flipped past ACC, etc., games on TV and it seems like something I could get into.
