I was just thinking what I'd do if I were in his position.  I'd prefer being executed to life in prison, but then again it's my only card to play.

so here's what I offer them:

yes, you can execute me, but you have to wait until February 9, 2016 (two days after the Super Bowl).

during the intervening time I must

a) have access to a living space resembling an apartment, and the priveleges thereof (except for, of course, the right to leave);
b) have uncensored (but not unmonitored) access to the internet;
c) have top-notch HDTV, including premium packages that allow me to watch every NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, NCAAB, and NCAAF game;
d) have access to take-out food 24/7, max 3 orders per 24 hour period;
e) have access to an elliptical machine;
f) have access to cotton short pants, pants, undergarments, socks, towels.

would they accept?

Put reasonable limits on the $ amount of his food orders, and I'd offer it to him.

even if it's exorbitant -- say $200/day -- isn't that a fraction of the cost of ongoing litigation over the course of years?

He can eat good pizza and chinese take out, but not fugu and steaks from Delmonico. Everything else you proposed was realistically restrained, why not a food budget. He'd eat far better than in prison.
