I'd say that Scott, politicus, maybe BRTD, and maybe Cranberry are pretty close to me politically.

My ideological opposite would be someone like NJ Christian or Cassius.

Similar: most blue avatars (they seem to be largely socially liberal on this site).

Opposite: Miles, MormDem or the New Mexico guy (can't think of it right now!).  All three of whom I respect as posters.

Most similar would probably be whomever the intermediary between TNF and Lief is. Most dissimilar would probably be wormyguy.

My farthest are NJ Christian, Cassius, pingvin, and any other fascist poster I've forgotten

Probably Antonio. I think we agree on literally almost everything (the one exception I can think of is prostitution law, off the top of my head).

JCL is the one I am least like, probably.

I'll do y'all one better and give a separation into distinct categories (those of social, economic, and foreign policy) and an aggregate.

Economics

Most: National Progressive
Least: Chairman Sanchez

Social:

Most: Tuerkisblau
Least: Lief or R2D2 on the Left/ Reaganfan on the right.

Foreign Policy:

Most: tara gilesbie
Least: Goldwater

Religious

Most: Zioneer (duh!)
Least: afleitch and HockeyDude

OVERALL

Most: Tuerkisblau, Zioneer, National Progressive
Least: Deus Naturae or FreedomHawk, though virtually any other atheist libertarian could fit the bill

A handful of years ago I would've said Lief and I lined up pretty solidly, but since then there's been something of a drift between my beliefs and certain aspects of the left that he seems more aligned with. Nix is a much better example of how my thoughts fall these days. I rarely disagree with him, it seems, and he is always very approachable.

I rarely find myself offended by someone's political beliefs in a very visceral way, but a little known poster named Koenkai managed to trigger me something awful. If there was ever a poster on this forum I found myself in persistent, loud disagreement with, it's him.

Politically, Franzl and bullmoose. In terms of 'outlook', Joe Republic. As for those least like me then it's any generic social conservative blue avatar.

Not sure who lines up with my ideology, if I even have one, these days. Opposites would probably be any left-winger who wants to upend society and uses awful grammar.

I don't think I fit in well with this metric. I am not sure anyone really fits in well with my peculiar portfolio of views, either as hostile to all, or friendly to all, or reasonably close thereto. Many are sort of the in ball park in either pro or con, but only sort of.

Koenkai was definitely a very interesting poster. I'd forgotten about him.

Least Similar is very difficult; my mixture of positions is very eclectic and has only gotten more so over the past year and a half. There's no one on the forum who I don't have an issue of agreement with, somewhere. I'll say one of our Marxist far-leftists, like TNF or Snowstalker, is least similar to me, but there might be a better answer out there.

Most Similar is almost certainly Goldwater. I think my most persistent disagreement with Goldwater has been about weather.

Krazen is about my opposite all around.  Or JCL.

Similar?  My political beliefs are ever changing around my ever more refined set of personal values.  I value honesty, fairness, and mercy as the highest ideals.  Honesty and mercy are self explanatory...but fairness is found in both equality and equity.  It is achieved through honesty, mercy, strong ethics, and allowing freedom of expression.

If those values are shared by a society as a whole, I become very communitarian (think the rather insular cultures of the upper midwest or utah that are very close knit with shared values)

If we are a broader society of differing cultures and beliefs, I become more libertarian...but i do not prefer that.  Even so, I value your freedom more than my comfort or sense of belonging as a matter of principle.
