how would your closest friends vote in the 2004 election?
Ed-probably Kerry, but I might be able to swing him toward Badnarik.
Mario-apolitical, but if he were to look into it, he'd probably be a Republican
Jenn-apolitical, doesn't get it, doesn't care to.
Steve-dislikes the major candidates, but would hold breath and vote for Kerry
Shoney-dislikes the major candidates, but would hold breath and vote for Bush
Tiffany-a moderate, probably lean toward Kerry
Ben-hates politics all together, hates the current administration. Hates government. Thinks voting is futile, but if I could convince him it isn't, Badnarik
Alex-wouldn't vote, honestly don't know who he'd vote for if he did.
Katie-voted for the lesser evil, Bush

Chris- Independent but anti-war so voted Kerry
David- Liberal Democrat, voted Kerry
Dave- Not interested in politics, probably would have voted for Bush
Molly- Socially liberal, Kerry
Jodi - Socially liberal, Kerry
Pam - somewhat liberal on social issues, but didn't vote, probably would have voted for Kerry
Adam - He's gay --- Kerry!
Brad - not into politics, probably would have voted for Kerry
Andrew - Actually rather conservative and didn't like Kerry, but voted for him anyway (didn't like Bush I guess)
Josh - liberal Democrat through and through, voted Kerry
Sammie - LESBIAN! Kerry of course.
Those are my closest friends I choose to associate with, as you can see most are liberal. My "friends" at work are mostly Republican.

The bulk of my friends are pretty liberal, so most voted for Kerry, tough Viv and Tim were thinking about writing in Nader.

Let's see...
2 (maybe 3?) for Bush...
The rest voted for Kerry or forgot to submit absentee ballots to that effect.

Of my four closest friends, two voted for Kerry (one is a environmental-type who voted for Nader in 2000), the other is a moderate Democrat, who would supported Bush 41, but not Bush 43.
The other two voted for Bush. One is a libertarian-leaning computer programmer.
The other one and his wife are staunch PA Republicans from Pottstown. (PA reference)

The only person who even comes close to being a "friend" that voted for Bush is one of my friend's roommates who only is his roommate because they met each other through a friend of a friend when they asked about people who wanted to move into a 4-bedroom apartment. Everyone else voted for Kerry or was completely apolitical and didn't vote.

They would have voted for Kerry, with one exception, and he is not really a friend so much as a weird guy who knows things about computers and occasionally sits at our lunch table.

Pretty evenly split between Bush, Kerry, apolitical voters.
Most of the girls and a few of my close friends would've voted for Bush which I found a little strange. Most of my friends that are big hunters would also vote Bush. Then there are a few who just hate Bush and a few who were afraid of a draft that would vote Kerry. One of them said he would've voted for Walt Brown
. Then there are a few that were apolitical and didn't really care.

You live in an echo chamber.
Most people I know voted for Bush, but a few voted for Kerry. I really don't ask people who they vote for, so unless it comes up in conversation as it sometimes does, I can only guess.

Out of non-YD friends: Even split, most are apolitical though. No 3rd party votes however. Now I was friends with a cop kid for 20 years who is borderline facist and currently lives in Jersey and voted Bush. Mind you we played sports together, looked at the same girls, etc. I'm no longer friends with him due in small part to him denouncing me as a "white libbo" in a local Irish pub about 3 years ago. There were other reasons as well. Should I consider him as a "friend" in this case?

Here's a list of some of my friend's views:
Kerry, but libertarian views and Republican parents (who were for Kerry, his mom is Teresa's personal secretary)
Kerry, but parents are Bush
Kerry, comes from a Jewish family
Bush, parents are big Bush fans
Bush, but kind of a Specter Republican
Most of the rest are not political at all.

I think literally every one of my closer friends, except my best friend, voted for Bush. My best friend voted for Browne in '00, would have voted for Bush if the election were in '02-'03, but switched to Kerry by the time '04 came around.

My libertarian friend voted for Badnarik.
My closest friend, moderately liberal, voted Kerry.
Most of my friends in the student governemnt I'm in voted Kerry except the frat boys, who voted Bush.
One of my closest friends won't tell me who he voted for, so I assume he voted for Bush.

US election-all Kerry except one (Badnarik or Kerry)
AUS election-Mix between one Lib, a couple of greens, one other democrat, and ALP. Basically all but one would preference ALP over Liberals, and he only supports them because of hi local member. He's the one who might vote for Badnarik, also.
